The Strongest Magnetic Storm In Almost 20 Years Strong magnetic storm, reaching G4 level, stirred the Earth's magnetosphere on March 24, 2024. It started after the magnetic cloud reached the planet after it was emitted by the Sun as a result of a giant flare on March, 23. The storm's intensity started to decrease in an hour after the beginning, following the change of magnetic field direction in the cloud.
