New observational program of Mikhail Pavlinsky ART-XC X-ray telescope onboard Spektr-RG orbital observatory is focused on the most interesting celestial regions and objects.

Dr. Sergey Bartalev presents the results of the remote sensing project dedicated to studies of carbon kept by Russian forests.

A black hole in the X-ray binary MAXI J1820+070 turned out to be strongly tilted with respect to the orbit of the binary. This discovery may have seroius implications for the measurements of black hole masses and spins from X-Ray observations. The results are published in Science on February 25, 2022.

Исследователи отдела космической динамики и математической обработки информации ИКИ РАН рассчитали сценарий миссии к далекой Седне — карликовой планете Солнечной системы, чья орбита находится за орбитой Нептуна. В 2075 году Седна должна пройти свой перигелий — ближайшую к Солнцу точку орбиты. И, похоже, именно у нынешнего человечества есть редкая возможность отправить к этому телу космический аппарат и дождаться результата. В следующий раз планета подойдет так близко к Солнцу лишь через 10 тысяч лет. «Встреча с Седной» может дать нам по-настоящему уникальную информацию о том веществе, из которого строилась наша Солнечная система миллиарды лет назад.
