Space Lessons at IKI From Marh 25 to April 6 IKI hosted a series of events for the students of 10th year, studying under Space Classes program, which is supported by the Department for Education of Moscow Governement. RSF Announces the Results of Three Grant Competitions In the end of March 2023 Russian Science Foundation published the lists of winners of three grant competitions. Among the 585 projects of the individual scientific groups to be supported by RSF are the projects led by IKI researchers. Step Into The Future: Meeting at IKI On March 27–31, 2023 with the official opening ceremony the International Forum for Scientific Youth «Step into the Future», dedicated to the 135th anniversary of eminent aircraft designer Andrei Tupolev, started. On March 28, the participants of the two Forum's sections on space science and astrophysics presented their talks at IKI. Bright, Energetic, and Puzzling Russian Mikhail Pavlinsky ART-XC X-ray telescope onboard Spektr-RG observatory (Roscosmos) and Russian KONUS instrument onboard WIND spacecraft (NASA), residing in two opposite Lagrange points L1 and L2, have provided a detailed study of GRB 221009A — the brightest of all gamma-ray bursts previously registered by Konus and most likely the brightest one in the whole history of mankind. Studying Moon at School A lecture for high school students at school 444, studying under Space Classes program, which is supported by the Department for Education of Moscow Governement, was held on March 17. IKI Researchers Awarded Jubilee Medals of Moscow Institute for Physics and Technology Ceremonial awarding was held on March 4, 2023 at MIPT's campus in Dolgoprudnyi. Watch Carbon From Space And Earth On February 15-16, 2023 the conference "Carbon in Ground Exosystems: Monitoring", initiated by the Center of Forest Ecology and Productivity of the Russian Academy of Sciences, took place at IKI. Academician Rashid Sunyaev is 80! On 1 March 2023 Academician Rashid A. Sunyaev, one of the world renowned astrophysicists, celebrates its 80th birthday. He is famous for many results, which have entered modern textbooks for theoretical astrophysics and cosmology all over the world.
