IKI Doors Open Day On April 15, 2023 IKI welcomed everyone interested in space at our Doors Open Day dedicated to Yuri Gagarin's first flight in space. The program included tours around the exhibition and popular lectures about Moon exploration and astrochemistry, which are now available on the web (in Russian). Space Month at IKI Today, April 12, 2023 we celebrate the 62nd year since Yuri Gagarin opened the space for mankind! IKI hosts the XX conference of young scientists and, on April 15, Doors Open Day for everyone interested in space science. Also, IKI researchers give a series of popular lectures about space science. Space Lessons at IKI From Marh 25 to April 6 IKI hosted a series of events for the students of 10th year, studying under Space Classes program, which is supported by the Department for Education of Moscow Governement. RSF Announces the Results of Three Grant Competitions In the end of March 2023 Russian Science Foundation published the lists of winners of three grant competitions. Among the 585 projects of the individual scientific groups to be supported by RSF are the projects led by IKI researchers. Step Into The Future: Meeting at IKI On March 27–31, 2023 with the official opening ceremony the International Forum for Scientific Youth «Step into the Future», dedicated to the 135th anniversary of eminent aircraft designer Andrei Tupolev, started. On March 28, the participants of the two Forum's sections on space science and astrophysics presented their talks at IKI. Bright, Energetic, and Puzzling Russian Mikhail Pavlinsky ART-XC X-ray telescope onboard Spektr-RG observatory (Roscosmos) and Russian KONUS instrument onboard WIND spacecraft (NASA), residing in two opposite Lagrange points L1 and L2, have provided a detailed study of GRB 221009A — the brightest of all gamma-ray bursts previously registered by Konus and most likely the brightest one in the whole history of mankind.
