RSF Announces the Results of Two Grant Competitions April, 1, 2024 Russian Science Foundation published the lists of winners of two grant competitions. Among the 515 projects of the individual scientific groups to be supported by RSF are the projects led by IKI researchers. The Strongest Magnetic Storm In Almost 20 Years Strong magnetic storm, reaching G4 level, stirred the Earth's magnetosphere on March 24, 2024. It started after the magnetic cloud reached the planet after it was emitted by the Sun as a result of a giant flare on March, 23. The storm's intensity started to decrease in an hour after the beginning, following the change of magnetic field direction in the cloud. Still, the geomagnetic environment remains disturbed, Dr. Anatoly Petrukovich Appointed Director of IKI The order was signed by Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia, on March 13, 2024. IKI Instruments On Board Meteor-M N.2.4 On Thursday, February 29, 2024 Meteor-M 2.4 satellite was launched from Vostochnyi. The spacecraft was succesfully inserted into oribt.
