These are the results of the project "Theoretical and experimental studies of extrasolar planetary systems' formation and evolution and parameters of exoplanets", currently under implementation.

International Youth Science Forum "Step Into The Future", dedicated to 135th anniversary of eminent aircraft designer Andrei Tupolev, will be held in March–May 2023. It is one of the most impressive events of the Science and Technology Decade in Russia.

Three projects led by IKI researchers are among the winners.

IKI researchers suggested the mechanism, which can explain unexpected heating of solar wind at large distances from the Sun. Results of the study, which was supported by Russian Science Foundation, are published in Astronomy& Astrophysics.

Academician Rashid Sunyaev was awarded the Max Planck Medal, the highest prize in theoretical physics granted by the German Physical Society (DPG), in recognition of “numerous and fundamental contributions to relativistic astrophysics and cosmology.”

On November 14 the 20th international conference "Modern Problems of the Earth Remote Sensing - 2022" started at IKI.

For the first time, the motion dynamics of an eruptive cloud, which formed during the catastrophic eruption of the Sheveluch volcano on November 11, 1964 (Volcanic Explosivity Index 4+), was reconstructed thanks to modern data processing methods and the databases of meteorological data.

The X-ray telescope onboard Spektr-RG space observatory entered the second year of space weather monitoring in L2 point.

Researchers from the Space Research Institute and their colleagues determined geometrical parameters of a neutron star floating in the Galaxy 21,000 light years away. The finding confirms old ideas that this star precesses like a whirligig. The results were published in Nature Astronomy.

Twenty years ago on October 17, 202, the INTErnational Gamma-Ray Astrophysics Laboratory, or INTEGRAL, soared into space from Baikonur onboard Proton launcher.
