November 20–23, 2023 the Third international conference "Science on the ISS", dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the International Space Station's flight, wil be held at IKI premises.

November 13–17, 2023 IKI hosts the 21st international conference "Modern Problems of the Earth Remote Sensing".

November 7 Dr. Andrey Sadovski, academic secretary of IKI, gave the talk "Through Science to Stars" at the international RUSSIA-EXPO.

IKI Press Service awarded the first prize as "The Best Press-Service of the Year".

Mikhail Pavlinsky X-ray telescope on-board Russian Spektr-RG observatory has completed the full survey of the Milky Way plane and now is going on with the all-sky survey, which was suspended in the spring of 2022.

The image of Zeeman crater was made on August 17 by STS-L cameras on-board Luna-25 station, while it was orbiting the Moon. Scientists have compared the image with the data about the surface in the region. It turned out that the walls of the crater contains more water ice than its floor.

In the beginning of autumn 2023 IKI exhibits were part of a special display "Rockets, Spaceship, People", organized by Gagarin Planetarium at Novorossyisk and supported by Roscosmos State Space Corporation.

Eight candidates for SIRIUS-2023 international project were announced in the end of August 2023, Among them Mohamad Abdelaal, the physicist from IKI. In his travel to the 'Moon' he plans not only run biomedical experiments, but also his own studies of dust particles dynamics in the Moon's near-surface exosphere.

On this day 66 years ago the first man-made satellite — Sputnik was launched into space from cosmodrome at Tyura-Tam, to be later known as Baikonur. October 4, 1957, at 22:28:34 Moscow time Space Era has begun.
