For three days more than 200 students and researchers presented their scientific results in various fields of space science. RSF Announces the Results of Two Grant Competitions April, 1, 2024 Russian Science Foundation published the lists of winners of two grant competitions. Among the 515 projects of the individual scientific groups to be supported by RSF are the projects led by IKI researchers. Step Into the Future in the Year of the Academy's 300th Anniversary International Forum for Scientific Youth «Step into the Future», dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences, is underway in Moscow On March 25–29, 2024 . On March 26, the participants of the Forum's section on space and Earth science presented their talks at IKI. The Strongest Magnetic Storm In Almost 20 Years Strong magnetic storm, reaching G4 level, stirred the Earth's magnetosphere on March 24, 2024. It started after the magnetic cloud reached the planet after it was emitted by the Sun as a result of a giant flare on March, 23. The storm's intensity started to decrease in an hour after the beginning, following the change of magnetic field direction in the cloud. Still, the geomagnetic environment remains disturbed, Dr. Anatoly Petrukovich Appointed Director of IKI The order was signed by Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia, on March 13, 2024. IKI Instruments On Board Meteor-M N.2.4 On Thursday, February 29, 2024 Meteor-M 2.4 satellite was launched from Vostochnyi. The spacecraft was succesfully inserted into oribt. New Millisecond X-Ray Pulsar Sounds La As Heard By Mikhail Pavlinsky ART-XC Telescope After the first few days of observations a new X-ray source turned out to be a pulsar in a binary system with a low-mass companion.
