ISEM Infrared Spectrometer for ExoMars 2022
ISEM, which is an acronym for Infrared Spectrometer for ExoMars, was designed and built to for Rosalind Franklin rover as part of ExoMars project (ESA/Roscosmos). Its aim was to study Martian atmosphere near the surface and mineralogical composition of the planet's upper layers.
ISEM was built at IKI. In this video, IKI scientists Dr. Yuri S. Dobrolensky and Dr. Daniel S. Rodionov, the members of the project, tell about the instrument, its design, and the principle of acousto-optic filtering, first developed in Russia.
