Conference of Young Scientists 2026 XXIII Conference of Young Scientists on Space Research ended at IKI. It has brought together more than 400 young researchers from Russia and other countires, with more than 250 talks in the program. Alley of Cosmonauts planted in Moscow as part of the Garden of Memory campaign Today, April 22, the world observes Earth Day — more precisely, International Mother Earth Day, established in 2009 by the UN General Assembly. Last Friday, IKI scientist Danila Gamkov took part in the international ecological patriotic campaign "Garden of Memory". A linden tree alley was planted in Golyanovsky Park in Moscow in honor of cosmonauts who took part in the Great Patriotic War. The action was also dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s flight into space. Celebrating 65th Anniversary of Yuri Gagarin Flight and International Day of Human Space Flight! The first Russian Space Week was held from 6 to 12 April 2026, dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the first manned spaceflight. On 6 April the plenary session dedicated to scientific experiments aboard manned orbital stations took place at IKI. During the Week, IKI scientists participated in various scientific and popular events. Cyclone Over European Russia As Seen By Meteor-M No.2-3 Balkanian cyclone brought heavy snowfalls to European part of Russia on 19 February 2026. Its effect on the landscape from 17 to 19 February can be traced thanks to MSU-MR instrument aboard Meteor-M No. 2-3 satellite. Images are built with the help of BEGA-Science Information system developed at IKI. IKI instruments aboard Elektro-L No.5 On 12 February 2026 Proton-M rocket launcher with DM-03 booster lifted off from Baikonur cosmodrome, carrying Elektro-L No.5 mission for Earth remote sensing. Thr spacecraft was successfully inserted into geostationary orbit more than 35 thousand kilometer high.
